We migrated to RingCentral 11 months ago. The phone system part is great. When we first started using RingCentral they used a white label version of Zoom. We use Zoom so this gave us more licenses. That said RingCentral has migrated to RingCentral Meetings and none of our team, including myself think it is very good. Zoom is much better. In our opinion.
  • Video conference.
  • Integrates with RingCentral.
  • Similar features to Zoom.
  • Missing many Zoom features.
  • Quality of sound and audio is an issue compared to Zoom.
  • Our clients prefer Zoom and often express concern when they get a RingCentral invite.
If you don't have access to Zoom it is better than nothing. It just needs more features. That said I think Zoom is like a verb and we have clients who just don't want to accept a RingCentral calendar invite. Our users prefer Zoom since it is so widely used.

RingCentral Meetings is used as the primary web meeting platform to provide face-to-face interaction while remote. The software has been implemented throughout the company and is integrated with the RingCentral phone system, which serves as the primary voice communication tool in the company. When COVID hit, the company turned to RingCentral Meetings in order to keep all of the business functions up and running. All meetings that previously were held in-person turned to RC Meetings.
  • Very easy to schedule and join meetings.
  • The software doesn't get in the way of the purpose, which is to collaborate and have open discussions.
  • Integrates with all other communication platforms in the company.
  • The RC Meeting splash screen is always up (at least on the Mac version) and can't be hidden, it gets in the way.
RC Meetings works very well as an alternative to any web conferencing solution, but in particular, it is a key piece to the complete unified communication platform—it simply completes the package of phone, chat, and collaboration tools that are a part of the RingCentral UCaaS solution. RingCentral Meetings literally saved the company when the pandemic hit and kept us in touch with all of our customers, vendors, and colleagues.

RingCentral Meetings is used by Carousel as way to communicate peer to peer and to clients for video based meetings, messaging and conferencing needs. It is available across the organization as a reseller of RingCentral services. We have access to other platforms as well, but find that the RingCentral platform is a great fit that's easy to use.
  • Ease of use in scheduling and starting meetings.
  • Ease of use in recording meetings which isn't always the case with competitive platforms.
  • Great app for mobile purposes which makes a world of difference during travel.
  • An area of improvement that I see which could simply be how I have it set up is how it imports contacts and email addresses on the mobile app. It doesn't seem to easily pull from Active Directory and relies on contacts being in my phone when many times, I'm including someone in a meeting who isn't an actual contact on my phone.
It's well suited for all internal and external engagements.

We use RingCentral Meetings across our entire operation, both internally for contact between our remote-based staff and contract personnel, and externally with our clients. We find that using RingCentral Meetings is a quick and efficient way to get valuable "face-time" with one another to troubleshoot issues, advance projects, and keep in front of our clients.
  • Fast and easy to set up meetings, even with participants that are not an account holder in your organization.
  • High quality streams, both video and audio.
  • Reliable connectivity that is adaptable to hardware and bandwidth constraints.
  • Has all of the basic features needed for the typical meeting (whiteboard, screen sharing, chat, recording, etc.).
  • Ability to have webinar-style attendees (where they aren't known to each other or able to interact).
RingCentral Meetings is ideally suited to the multi-locational and remote worker organization that needs quick ad-hoc meetings. I find that it is often as easy to do a video meeting with field personnel as it is a phone call, and the results are generally more positive. Their great support for tablets and smartphones makes reaching staff a virtual given and gives our technicians the ability to see what is happening at a client site without being there. No longer do we have to ask the question of "What do the lights on the front of some devices look like?" when we can just ask them to point their camera at it for us in real-time.

RIngCentral Meetings is our primary service for both internal and external web conference meetings. We employ it across our sales and delivery teams, as well as for recurring internal company meetings that include remote team members or people at across our three main offices. We use it both for content sharing, video conferencing, and sometimes just as an audio conference solution. It gives us one consistent tool to use for all our multi-endpoint real-time communication needs.
  • Easy to start a meeting with video or audio
  • Support lots of people connecting in to the meeting
  • Recordings are easy to start
  • Transferring ownership to another participant
  • Easy to create recurring meetings
  • It's easy to end up accidentally trying to run multiple meetings under the same account, which can cause churn and confusion for participants
  • Interacting with people outside the organization is sometimes hard because RingCentral Meetings requires them to download and install software - there's no plugin-free way to get in to the conference (other than just dialing in via audio)
  • A lot of our end users are repeatedly confused with how to select phone vs computer audio, so we end up losing time at the start of a meeting dealing with echoes on the line
  • There's only two roles in a meeting - Host and Guest. When we have large meetings with remote team members, it'd be useful to be able to manage subgroups of participants - i.e. Team Members vs Executives, to be able to control who gets muted or who gets dropped at different times in the call.
  • From time to time we encounter notifications of instability of the underlying internet connection, but then RingCentral isn't able to tell us if the issue was on our local network, intermediary sources, or their main service.
  • Because RingCentral Meetings is just a white label of Zoom, RingCentral's support for the platform is more limited than for their other services.
It's great for internal meetings and for when you need screen sharing and video visibility. It's not well suited for basic phone conferences, and can be tricky to use with participants outside your company.

It is being used by anyone in the organization that has a reason to need a meetings solution. There is no other tool that is used. We preinstall it on all computers and give anyone an account to it just in case they need it. It is being used to conduct phone only calls as well as meetings on a computer, and a hybrid meeting of the two. It is being used to show other employees how to use the tools for training. Sometimes the sessions are recorded so the trainer only needs to do the main training once. It is used to present slides to people outside of the company.
  • Very reliable. It never breaks on any of our devices
  • Call quality is always fine
  • Installation is quick for guests joining the meeting
  • It connects to Outlook and Google calendar so it's easy to add invites from within the applications.
  • It's just like many other zoom-based meeting tools. They are all based on this single technology that is just rebranded
  • Other zoom-based meeting tools might be cheaper or offer other things you might want
  • Nothing negative about this meeting tool. I really do like it and there is no reason to not use it since we get it free with our RingCentral phone accounts.
If you use RingCentral already like us, it's a no-brainer to use. I have seen no other reason to purchase any other meeting tool. If we didn't use RingCentral phones and got the meeting app free, I would still research other alternatives that might be a better price. As I mentioned, this app is based on "zoom" meetings, and so are many other options.
